Abomination: Sea of Stones: 6 Fallen
Lucidia Brightsteel lay shivering on the filthy straw pallet and stared at the humongous spiders crawling up the wall of the tiny stone cell. The tattered, blood-stained remnants of her nightgown did little to ward off the damp cold. How long has she been down here in the dungeons below the castle? Judging by the regular meals the fiends have been bringing her, three days minimum. How ironic it is that she should end her days wasting away in these cold, dank cells when she herself condemned many a soul to that same fate. Those tortured souls are probably laughing themselves silly about right now. She really didn’t care anymore.

Twilight at the Oasis (1)
The late afternoon sun hung lazily up in the clear cyan blue sky, as if reluctant to sink into the horizon to bring night-time to the desert. The heat of the day radiated from the sands, almost creating a shimmering haze to anyone seeing it at ground level. Only a gentle breeze provided any source of relief for any traveller upon the dunes. Yet within the barren scorching plains of the desert, there was a beautiful gem of life. An oasis to be precise. It was enormous in size with a vast lake in the centre, surrounded by thick palm trees. Because of its size, one would easily mistake it for a jungle. A few buildings were erected within the oas

Abomination: Sea of Stones: 5 Stowaway
Shelagh stood atop the massive stone juggernaut that rose high above the surrounding sea. Until now, this spot had only known seabirds and perhaps the occasional passing dragon. From here, she could just barely see the tops of the Stone Princess’s mast. She had convinced Captain Saltbiter to allow her to leave the ship and gather eggs for the crew’s breakfast by assuring him that they were too far out for her to fly back to shore. This wasn’t true, of course. Like a dragon, Shelagh could stay aloft for days – especially with the constant updrafts that blew across the Sea of Stones. Then there were the numerous sto

Abomination: Sea of Stones: 4 - Aftermath
Christophe Flashsteel, the former Guard-Captain of Danton, stood in what was left of the market square of the city he had sworn to protect. The sun had only just risen, and already the city was in ruins. Crows, buzzards, and other scavengers filled the skies or prowled among the debris feasting on the carnage. Most of the fires from the night before had burned themselves out, leaving only smoldering wreckage that created a choking haze that hung over the once mighty port city. Only the castle, stone temples, a few of the more sturdy or lucky wooden structures, the docks and ironically the wall itself remained intact. At least half of

Abomination: Sea of Stones: 3 - Docks
The sun had only just risen, but the Blackport docks were already a beehive of activity. Longshoremen moved about with practiced efficiency, loading and offloading ships from scores of kingdoms and principalities all across Pangea. Crewmen tended to their vessels, conducting repairs, painting, refitting, and any number of other tasks that could only realistically be done in port. Ship captains argued and negotiated with port officials over docking fees, permits, taxes and other bureaucratic trivialities, while the ship owners haggled with caravan merchants over the value of their cargo. Cats stalked about everywhere, looking for
If I told you this story happened once upon a time, would you believe it then?
Perhaps, perhaps not.
Whether you believe me or choose not to, it happened. There were two little girls, and a bear.
And that is all I know.
At least, it is all I know for certain.
You were expecting more, weren't you? Very well.
One little girl was blonde, with skin white as snow, the other rosy and raven-tressed, so they say, but that doesn't seem very likely unless they weren't sisters at all, and I have always assumed they were sisters. It is almost inevitable that they were sisters. No story ever says much about the father. He was dead, or abandoned them

Abomination: Sea of Stones 2 - Invasion
The sun was just setting beyond the Sea of Stones as Guard-Captain Christophe Flashsteel made his way through the cobbled streets of Danton. Most of the decent townsfolk had already retired to their abodes for the night, leaving only the ne'er-do-wells, ruffians, prostitutes, thieves and beggars still walking the streets. These lowlifes quickly made way for the imposing, golden-haired warrior. He was rather young for a Guard-Captain, but his impressive build, heavy chain-mail, and well-earned reputation with his long sword ensured that no one impeded his progress.
Guard-Captain Flashsteel had no fear of these types, nor did he hav

Abomination: Sea of Stones: 1- Slave market
There was a palpable feeling of excitement in the air as the mid-morning sun shined over Blackport. A cool, crisp wind blew in from the south, bringing with it the salty smell of the Sea of Stones. Colorful banners of a dozen different petty nobles and merchant houses fluttered from the high towers, and scores more hung from every building. The entire city was caught up in a festive mood, for the Baron had declared a free market day. Merchants from all corners of Pangea cluttered the streets, hawking their wares to passerby, selling everything from fine silks to meat pies. City dwellers mingled with farmers and country folk as chil
There was once a city with a king who had seven sons born from seven different consorts. The first son was a mighty warrior who led the city's armies into battle as their general. The second son was a powerful wizard who served in his father's palace as court mage. The third son was the shrewd royal treasurer who collected the taxes. The fourth son was a brave hunter and ran the royal menagerie. The fifth son was the head judge and administered the courts with a keen legal mind. The sixth son was the kingdom's clever spymaster, and not a thing happened in the city that he didn't know about. The seventh son was the wise chief diplomat, and too
